DONNA CARBONE SCHAEFFER (Artistic Director) Miss Donna started dancing at the age of 6, and began teaching at 14 years old to pay for her own dance lessons. She learned from some of the best dance teachers in the world at prestigious studios, including Phil Black Dance Studio, Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway. Miss Donna studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and modern with Phil Black, Charles Kelly, David Howard, Mia Michaels, Henry LeTang, Don Farnsworth, and Suzy Taylor to name just a few. She believes in the ongoing training of her staff, enabling Dance Arts students to be exposed to the best and most current trends in the world of dance. Miss Donna is a member of Dance Educators of America and a professional member of USA Gymnastics. Her nursing background and extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology are assets to her teaching.

Many of Miss Donna’s former students have gone on to enjoy professional dance careers: performing on Broadway, in National Tours, and in Regional Productions; starring on television shows; dancing with Twyla Tharp Dance Company and Mikhail Baryshnikov; performing in music videos, at Walt Disney World, and at the Brooklyn Academy of Music; serving on the faculty of the world-renowned Joffrey Ballet School Summer Intensive; appearing in Dance Magazine; and earning degrees in Dance and Dance Education.
 Miss Donna truly loves to dance, and has shared that passion with her teachers and thousands of students throughout the Dance Arts Community since 1977!

TARA MEMI Miss Tara is a former Rockette of 15 years. Miss Tara achieved the impressive roles of Rockette Swing, Dance Captain, and Assistant Choreographer for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. She currently continues her career with Radio City as an Associate Choreographer for the Rockette Summer Intensive and The Rockette Master Series. Miss Tara is an adjunct profession at Pace University teaching tap. A proud member of the Dance Arts family, Miss Tara is thrilled to be sharing her passion for dance in her hometown of Merrick.

TAMMY VENTI Dance Arts has been a cherished second home to Miss Tammy for the past 38 years. She began dancing at the age of 3, assisting at 13, and teaching at 18. Being a part of the Dance Arts family has helped Miss Tammy become a better dancer, choreographer, teacher, and mentor. Her favorite dance styles are contemporary, lyrical, and jazz. Dance Arts has provided a healthy, positive, and productive environment where Miss Tammy feels lucky to have developed lifelong friendships; she now strives to provide that for all her students. Miss Tammy is looking forward to her 39th year at the studio!
LINDSEY SUMMER Miss Lindsey has been dancing at Dance Arts for over 15 years, studying jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, and ballet. She has been a teacher at Dance Arts for 8 years. Miss Lindsey recently earned a Masters degree in STEM Education at Hofstra University and is currently a middle school math teacher in Brooklyn. Miss Lindsey continues her dance education at Broadway Dance Center, studying street jazz and hip hop styles with master choreographers including Derek Mitchell, Leslie Feliciano and Luam. Miss Lindsey uses these experiences in her classes, creating an innovative and challenging atmosphere where students channel the movements often seen in music videos and on America’s Best Dance Crew.
CARRIE DALE Miss Carrie started dancing at the age of 3 and has been part of the Dance Arts family for over 30 years. She has enjoyed teaching tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop for over 10 years and is a certified Zumba instructor. She also coordinated the Adult Tap Program at Dance Arts. Miss Carrie holds a BS in Occupational Therapy, and is currently the Director of Therapy at a rehabilitation center in Melville. Miss Carrie truly lives for dance and for her students, and enthusiastically takes every opportunity to share her love of dance with those around her.
PEGGY YORK Miss Peggy has been dancing at Dance Arts for over 25 years and is entering her 15th year of teaching. She has studied tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, pointe, and kickline, as well as Zumba. Miss Peggy interned with American Ballet Theater and had the unique experience of performing in their production of Romeo and Juliet. A graduate of LIU Post with a degree in Secondary Math Education, Miss Peggy is currently a teacher at Kellenberg Memorial High School where she coached both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Dance Teams.
MICKEY BYRNE Miss Mickey has been with the Dance Arts family for more than 20 years, and she currently teaches ballet, pointe, jazz and lyrical. She has been fortunate to study different early forms of dance such as Baroque and Renaissance dance. These facets of dance have provided her with a unique understanding of the origins of ballet, which she enjoys sharing with her students. Miss Mickey considers Dance Arts to be a second home and is proud to be a Dance Arts teacher.
KELLY CONKLIN Miss Kelly has been at Dance Arts for 24 years, studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and kickline. She also studied ballet at the University of Delaware while obtaining her degree in Fashion Merchandising. Miss Kelly completed a 6 month internship at Walt Disney World, working on parades through the Magic Kingdom with both performers and management. Miss Kelly is thrilled to be part of the Dance Arts teaching staff and looks forward to many more years of dancing with her Dance Arts family!

MEAGHAN MCCLOAT Miss Meaghan has been part of the Dance Arts family since 2004.  She was a student teacher for four years prior to becoming an official member of the Dance Arts faculty.  A graduate of Adelphi University, Miss Meaghan is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Education.  She loves kids and truly enjoys sharing her love of dance with the children she teaches.

LINDSAY MESH Miss Lindsay has been a member of the Dance Arts family for 25 years and has studied every subject the studio has to offer. While earning her bachelors degree from Marist College, she was a teacher and active member of the Marist College Dance Ensemble, teaching hip hop and jazz classes. Miss Lindsay recently received her law degree from Hofstra School of Law and is working as an attorney in Uniondale. Even while focusing on her studies, Miss Lindsay continued to dance at the studio as dance has always been one of her passions.

NATALIE ISAZA Miss Natalie graduated with a BFA in dance from Adelphi University where she also studied business. While dancing at Adelphi she performed and learned works from many choreographers including Orion Duckstein, Jennifer Kreichman, Greg Askins, Paul Taylor, and Jiri Kylian. Natalie is also a company member for Dance Visions NY, performing original Isadora Duncan pieces as well as original choreography by director Beth Jucovy. She has also performed with the JCLynn Dance Company in their Oyster Bay Holiday Show and benefits in Long Island. Natalie teaches all styles of dance and is excited to be a part of the Dance Arts family.
